Apps to SD (data to SD)?

Having upgraded my X10 to 2.2beta4 (so much better than SE2.1 its not even funny) I have a question about the apps to SD function. What are the drawbacs of installing apps on the SD card? I have noticed that if I install an app on the SD the widget will vanish, is that normal? Also why is it that an app is half the size when its installed on the SD card?

Had not really thought about that, I dont even know what Ive got. Just the 8gb card that came with the phone.

Would a card upgrade enable the widget on, say Facebook if it were installed on the SD?

I know SD class is relevant to use appstoSD but not sure if widget related... wait for someone else with 2.2+ experience.
