Alternatively, can I move the mute button to somewhere else on the screen or remove it entirely?
hello,
I think I have found a solution to the problem. Usually I was pressing the mute button or the speaker button, by mistake, when I was talking to the phone which was really annoying. The only solution I came up with is when you receive a call or place a call to press the power button (or lock button of the screen) on the top of the phone (for my live with walkman phone). This deactivates the screen and the options of the mute button and speaker button are no longer there and cannot be pressed my mistake. If for some reason you want to activate them, you press the same button again. It is not a great solution but it works.....
I hope I helped.....

Hi,
This is what I do, but [you] gotta go in settings before because this button is originaly used to turn the call off.
I'm really disguted of Sony's service...
Yep, I found the same solution (just turn off the display) . Kind of annoying, but at least don't have to shout "Yes! I hear you! I'm heeere! ... Oops, I pressed the Mute, wait, wait...." and meanwhile have the opposite side hang up!
As for the Sony service, I was shocked to receive their answer of my problem 5 (FIVE) months later!!! Can you imagine?!?! Not only did they replied 5 months later, but they said in their completely useless answer "Please reply up to 5 days upon receipt of this, otherwise we'll consider your problem solved"!!!! Really, NO COMMENT!!
Hi,
I was actually thinking of throwing the phone from the fourth floor of my office ,as it was so irritating to have the phone go on mute during a call....
But Eureka...thanks for the "switch off button" tip....I am keeping the phone for now :smileyhappy::smileyhappy:
