Alert regarding GPS device

Hello,
I have turned location off from notification window as turning it on is resulting in slow performance of device and few other problems. However due to this, I repeatedly get an alert stating "GPS Message - Open GPS Device" every 2 mins which is very disturbing. Please let me know how to turn off the alert of GPS Message.
