Xperia XA2 mic issues

You just sent XA2 units for review to sites like gsma and etc, with such a bad microphone bug during video recording its not even funny. Looked up two video tests, both with same awful sound recording. I dont know if its a tech or software bug but.... The sound is horrendeous. How can you send devices with such serious bugs to reviews?!? Is there anyone out there in quality control room? Hello?

Also have this problem with video taken on the xa2 ultra someone mentioned an update to fix. Has one been issued or can I be pointed towards one. Video quality is excellent but the sound is awful. Trying to record kids concert but sound so bad unable to listen to

I have this issue too. Recording audio only the quality is fine. Recording video with external mic the quality of the audio is ok. But recording video with the internal mic, even using different apps of videorecording, the result is the same: very low and dirty audio.

I've updated everything possibile.

(I hope only it's not a hardware problem, the phone is new!)

Contacted Sony support they suggested a software repair not attempted yet. On forum several people report the same problem. My phone is also new and this was on first video I shot. Come on Sony any ideas

I'm afraid anyway this is an hardware problem. If you digit *#*#7378423#*#* you can have access to the service menu. There you can test primary mic and secondary mic separately. In my xperia xa2 the sound of the secondary mic recordind is very low and bad.

(Voice is recorded by the primary mic, so it's fine. Video it's a stereo recordind, so there's a lot of noise).

Tried the software update,then factory reset as Sony suggested. Eventually returned to Sony for appraisal/repair has now been returned with new "main board sticker (11) and component (7) "fitted. First trial videos seem ok. Going to reset as my phone tomorrow. When speaking to Sony support no hints from them that it may be a "common" issue. Must say that the repair has been prompt. Posted phone to them 15.1.19 received back today 23.1.19
