I live in an area with poor signal strength (O2). If I set the phone to 4G(preferred)/3G/2G the phone goes to "No service" in my house. However, if I set it to 2G(Voice and SMS only) I get 2 or 3 bars signal strength. This is irritating. If I forget to change to 2G-only when I get home, I miss calls and texts.
Does anyone know why the phone does not automatically revert to 2G if it cannot get sufficient 3G or 4G? The O2 shop suggested I use WiFi calling but the XA1 does not support this. I would have to spend £500 on a more upmarket phone to get this. However, the XA1 is only a few months old. Will WiFi calling come to the XA1?
Many thanks Phil G

Thanks, I am in the UK. I suspect that 2G networks will disappear before long but, as I said, I can switch to 2G only and get a reasonable signal.
