Turn off vibration- Xperia XA

I've just got this phone, and I can't seem to find a way to turn off the vibration. I've gone into every settings list I can find (including the apps) but nothing seems to work. It's really loud and doing my head in! There's also times it vibrates and I'm not even sure why!

you can switch it off without having to stop the ring volume:

SETTINGS>SOUND & NOTIFICATION>OTHER SOUNDS

Then disable 'Vibrate on touch'

Glad I found it as it was a real pain in the backside!

Did you try using the Settings search function for vibration? I hate C5 vibrations and the 1St thing I do is alway disable them and the search function helped to find all possible places where I can disable it.

Go to settings, you should have a magnifying glass on top right, click it and then type just vibrat.

I'm probably being dim, but I don't know where that function is? It isn't in the settings list, as far as I can see...

You don't see the magnifying glass on the top right of settings page? What android version do you have installed?

Hi @Lillynniec, congratulations on your Xperia XA and welcome to our forums! Slightly_smiling_Face

I see that you have received great information from @YoGem regarding the vibration settings in your new phone.

To turn off vibrations completely the phone has to be in a do not disturb mode, you can however turn off vibrations for phone calls, keyboard presses, keyboard inputs and so forth directly in the Settings menu.

Most application have their own settings for notifications and vibrations, so vibration will need to be turned off for each application in your phone. The most common place inside the app(s) for the settings menu is either the 3 dots in the top right corner, or the 3 lines in the top left corner. Tap either of those and a new menu should open up and you should see an option called "Settings".

As an example we can take the Messaging application, open it up and tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > Settings > Notification vibration, here you can turn off or turn on the option to receive a vibration when you receive a new text message or MMS.

Do note that this is entirely based on the application itself, so it might not be an option in all applications that you download from the Google Play store.

Let me know if that answers your question! Slightly_smiling_Face

I think I've got rid of some of it. It's an awful design feature, though!
