I purchased this on 29 June 2015. It is now out of warranty.
I started having overheating issues with it on 27 August whilst listening to music and the battery drained quicker than usual.
It is now dead.
I don't think I have reached the 500 charge cycles yet at which the battery starts to deteriorate according to the manual.
I only use it around 5 - 7 hour per week. I don't usually have to charge it for at least a month.
I have tried the reset button located at the top left of the micro sd slot. Holding down for at least 8 seconds.
I have also tried charging through my SONY SRS-NWGU50 Speaker dock and through my pc using the supplied cable and giving it more than an hour. Still no response.
Has any one brought a walkman outside the EU to avoid the EU Volume Cap?
I have been offered to send this back to a Sony repair Centre to be repaired in the UK.
Do you think they will load UK firmware on it?
I am considering sending it to the US or Japan for a repair to avoid this. My Sony Xperia Z3 brought in the UK is up to 25% more quieter.
