Hi,
is it true that it is not good to clean Sonys X-Black Displays with micro-fibre material ? how can i detect if i damaged the covering of my display ?
i have just cleaned my display with a standard tft cleaning kit (microfibre cloth, cleaning fluid) and i have stripes on the display (like when you clean your window) it does not look damaged but i would like to know how to detect damage on the covering of x-black displays.
how do you guys clean your tft's (x-black)
Hi swag,
Most people here just use a dry microfibre cloth - some use a damp cloth then a dry one (using water only). Best to avoid any solvents.
However, I would not expect a standard TFT cleaning kit to cause damage.
I'm using a damn normal cotton cloth (the ones for cleaning of nose), some water with little bit glas cleaner (be sure it's without anionic tenside).
I spray 3-4 times in something about 50-70ml water and use that. That works since 3 years for me. And my screen is still same shiny mirror like at first day. No scratches and whatever.
just be becareful at cleaning and don't use too much pressure. (pressure should tend to 0. LOL)
Use the water at the cloth, and don't put it on your screen of course.
HTH
I do like Blencogo says, a little water and a dry cloth to dry it off
Ok thanks guys
A useful thread for a new owner (like me), thanks.:smileyhappy:
Again a case of RTFM...
