Wont boot up at all

I have a problem, i was typing away in Word when all of a suddent the pc froze, the whole thing. I left the pc for 5 mins and tried alt+ctrl+del and nothing happened so I reset the pc by holding down the on button.

I tried to boot up but nothing happens, apart from the lights on the pc come on but nothing else, nothing appears on the monitor,and there is a lack of sound from the machine, so it looks as if i may have blown a couple of bits inside the machine.

Its a FJ3S PM 740,and was just wondering has this happened to anyone before, i seriously doubt that i will be ale to fix this without an a tech guy from pc world.

Have you tried connecting your vaio to an external monitor..?

The main problem for PC World will be getting parts - as Sony don't really like helping others out and would rather fix them themselves.
