im a bit scared coming into this section,i always just usually log into the fun section BUT i have reason why im here
a have a laptop that can go wireless so , a friend of mine came around and set it up for me,
im absolutely amazed by it,im used to having cables coming out of walls and modems into my computer,NOW i can make a butty in me kitchen while being online, its brill
but im a bit worried of the news of "hackers" tapping into my computer while im "wireless"
SO, is there any security i can get or download for my computer to stop this happening.
Your friend may have set up some sort of wireless security (if you are lucky!!)
Can you give us a bit of background so we can tell you where to look.
Vaio Model?
XP or Vista?
Make/model of wireless router?
It is usually not too bad setting up enough security to keep any hackers out!!
Yeah I really wouldn't worry too much Angus.
It doesn't take long to make sure you are protected.
sorry chaps, didnt give you much info
i have a vaio vgna517b bluetooth/ wireless etc etc
it does far more than im worthy of
oh and runs with windows XP
it probably is safe but you do hear, of credit card, passwords, usernames all being hacked into
or the old, someone next door using your connection
anyway im probably just panicking cause its beyond beleif what these things can do
ta for getting back anyway
