Just bit of help if possible ive got the VAIO vgn-fe41s and it has a built in webcam on the top of the screen... first day i managed to get it on... now i have no idea how it works or how to get it to turn on... i click on my webcam/bluetooth icon and search for new devices and nothing happens.

Hey Claire, welcome to club VAIO,
Depending on your setup the camera should be available on 'my computer', as i had this trouble myself, but then was able to use the camera from 'my computer' named something along the lines of 'sony visual communication camera'.
Hope this helps...?

Hi Claire and welcome to Club Vaio.

You will have Vista on your FE41S, so using the camera is a little different from XP.

Go To Start -> All Programs and look for Vaio Camera Capture Utility. Open it and you should see yourself. Bit of a shock????? I'm sure not!!

The Vaio Camera Utility will open so you can adjust the camera settings. With this you can capture stills or movies for including in other programs/e-mails etc.

To use the camera in something like Skype, just click on Tools -> Options -> Video Settings in Skype and select 'Enable Skype Video' and then select the 'Sony Visual Communications Camera'. Again you should see yourself and the Vaio Camera Utility will open for you to adjust the camera settings. Do the same in other IM programs.

If it doesn't work like this come back here - there have been some problems in the past if you do not have the most up-to-date software.
