WDDM 1.1 driver for 6400 go

Hello,

I am a proud owner of a VAIO FS-415M. As I'm a college student, I get access to MSDNAA, so I have already have a genuine Windows 7 RTM version on my laptop. The issue is that Sony has not yet released a geforce 6400 go driver update that supports WDDM 1.1, so I'm stuck here with a Windows 7 without Aero.

Dell has already released, 10 months ago, there version of graphic drivers update with WDDM support. I wonder why my prestigious Sony Vaio still hasn't done the same??

Please be quick on releasing it!

Until then you could try downloading and installing the Forceware Vista Driver Version 176.37 which will install on your Vaio without modifying the .INF file. This would be at your own risk but it would not be a disaster if thigs go wrong as you can roll-back to your old driver.

There are also drivers on the same site specifically designed for Windows 7 but you may have to modify the installation information file (.INF) as it will not install unless you do this.
