VGN FZ11L - touchpad and cursor not responsive

i bought this vaio less than a month back and already the cursor is not responding to touchpad commands. the cursor is locked in a central position. i have to use an external mouse to navigate.


this is my second vaio and the previous vaio had the same problem. the other vaio's touchpad has started working of its own accord now.

please help.

Can you check if you have a pointing device or PS2 mouse listed in Device manager..

You can do this by going to Start, then type Devmgmt.msc in the start search box, then click on Devmgmt.msc

If the UAC window appears click OK.

Then click on the + next to Mice & other pointing devices to expand the tree..
