My wife and I each have a Vaio VPCEC3SOE notebook. Recently hers has started making strange squeeking noises similar to those heard on fax machines. This does not seem to affect the operation of the machine but is annoying.
Also we have a 'Clickfree back up system. It allowed her to load her 'things' onto it but now will not update at all. It sticks on 'analyzing'...Annoyingly it works fine on my unit so appears something not right on the wifes machine!! Tried lots including speaking to the clickfree people but so far to no availe.'
For those interested the noises have stopped - I phoned the Sony help line and as a first step they instructed me to carry out a windows system check and foe some reason this cleared the noise fault. The clickfree back up problem however remains
