Hi there, contact your home insurance and claim on accidental damage,on personnal possesions,or use your discs and restore the pc back to factory settings, this you will lose files etc that you put on it.first of all try using system restore and restore the pc to a time before the accident,or just try re setting the language,a keyboard isn't a big problem to replace, most of them just clip in and out,but be carefull of the ribbon connection it is very fragile, are you sure it is absolutely dry, under the keys is a thing like a rubber sucker they might still be a bit damp.one way of checking if none of these work,is to borrow a usb desktop keyboard install it and try that,if that works it is a keyboard fault,if not it is possibly a mother board fault,if none of these work, send it back as faulty under warranty, and then plead ignorance regards Bob

Sony will carry out the repair for you but a liquid spillage will not be covered by your warranty. If it is the keyboard only, Sony will want about £120 up front to cover collection, parts and labour. If the liquid has caused damage to your Motherboard, they will want around £470 up front.

This is why 2jags has suggested you claim on your household insurance if you have Accidental Damage Cover on your Contents.

I would leave it a couple of days if it is just water and hope that it dries out without damage. If not, phone VAIO-LINK SUPPORT to arrange the repair.

Despite the illegitimacy of that claim the people who will fix it aren't stupid. They will be able to see what has happened and see the water marks and damage and you will then be charged so you will lose either way.

I think they will also probably match up your details to your account here and quite probably read your message

hahahaha ok but i still find it an outrage, that my warranty wont cover it? soo im guessing only if my laptop blows up they will fix it or give me a new laptop for free

Hi a7med_360,

I think you will find that most manufactures guarantee's don't cover accidental damage..
