hi guys
when listening to an mp3 song , my windows media player just stopped playing any sounds
(i can still hear the windows startup sound but nothing else , and i dont use vista)
since then, i get the message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly
since then, i also cannot adjust the sound volume from the buttons in top right hand of the keyboard.
in control panel/sounds and audio devices, i see an 'no audio device' indication
but the device manager shows that my sigmatel audio device is working properly
i've tried following the troobleshooting advice , installing the kb888111hotfix, reinstalling the sound device, reinstalling the initial drivers, with no results
any ideas?
