sony vaio sz4mn/b cursor behaves erratically

its 4 months since i bought my sony vaio sz4mn/b and now the cursor is behaving erratically. the cursor moves opposite to the touchpad commands and often opens and closes pages on its own.

please help, this is frustrating.

You may have to reinstall your touchpad software but try going to the touchpad properties (click on the square grey touchpad in the taskbar) and turn OFF "Use Web Assistant" and turn ON "Turn Off Cursor when Typing".

In Device Manager, what sort of mouse is shown as being installed? Is it a Pointing Device or a PS2 Mouse?
