After the 8 upgrade, that was supposed to remove media gallery, it is still there. Furthermore, it tries to run it's own installer frequently, locking out my ability to install or remove anything else until I kill the windows installer service manually.
Uninstalling through normal means (control panel > uninstall a program) whirs away for a little bit, says it's done it but it is still there.
Running the "Media Gallery Uninstaller 1.0 - 1.0.0.08030" from the support downloads page again whirs away for a while, says it has completed but does nothing.
I have no intention of ever using it, but don't mind leaving it installed, however the constant locking out of the installer service is a right old pain.
