position of usb ports

all laptops have usb ports on side why not put them on the top edge of screen that way they are out of the way of being cought

I think this will depend what you use your USB ports for.

Your idea would be fine for flash drives and dongles but they would be better on the sides for anything with a trailing wire like printers, speakers, external HDD, mouse etc.
