PCV-RX403NG Sonicstage + Windows media Player

I have a problem with the preinstalled Sonicstage player and the Windows Media Player. Neither playback files saved in My Music (or anywhere else for that matter). I think it might be a software conflict. The media player in particlar does not recognise files in any format and both players freeze often resulting in a system crash. Playback on the few occasions it has worked is erratic. Anyone else experienced this? What can I do to fix it?

I would uninstall SonicStage and see if WMP works. If it doesn't upgrade it to version 9 and see if music plays. If it does, then try reinstalling SonicStage.
