my VGN-S2VP does not start up again after going to hibernation

when my machine is turned on it fails to start up the hard drive and screen to come on. No Vaio logo etc.. it does look to the disc drive but does nothing. Any ides?

Welcome to Club Vaio..

Unplug the power supply and remove the cable and all connected devices from your Vaio, then remove battery.

Once done press and hold down power button for a full 30 seconds, then replace the battery and then plug in power cord. Once completed turn the laptop on..
