memory stick reader problem

hi i am newly registered, i have a sony pcg-215sp and my sony memory stick reader has stopped loading i tried sony tech help but they want to reset my machine and i am not confident about this solution. I know this is not tech support but any advice would be apprecited :smileyconfused::

Right Click My Computer,
Click on Properties
Click on Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Look for the memory reader
Right click it
Click Uninstall

Restart your VAIO, and Windows should re-detect it.

thankyou for your speedy reply the help is great to have but i am afraid i was not able to see it in device manager......it dosent appear in my computer either where it shows my other drives???

It's probably in USB devices.
