Help with USB Ports - Not working!!!

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-C2S. I recently downgraded from Vista to XP Pro SP2. I had already downloaded drivers for XP (drivers for C1, as I read in another article) so after OS installation I started installing device drivers. Please note that at this point my USB mouse was working fine (so I assume USB ports were working fine) until I installed intel's chipset driver. After restart, USB ports were not working at all and there is no activity when a USB device is connected (mouse, flash memory etc.) Device Manager shows all devices working properly except 4 USB Root Hubs which were on yellow exclamation mark and which I disabled (as a solution found to the problem which didn't work) Please help me solve this problem!!!

PS: Touchpad is working fine.

Bumping this topic up cause i have same problem. My usb ports stopped working properly. First they stopped seeing my mouse, but I realised they they dont see flash memory also. Then I tried to solve it by installing usb drivers and chipset drivers. Now pendrives and other hardware works, except mouse. Its still not working at all. Light under mouse is on, but the cursor doesnt move. + Every 10 seconds I hear a sound which u hear while plugging in new device to usb port. (even tho there is nothing in usb ports) Plz help

I will add that I have Vgn-fw21m and since today it was working perfect. (Windows Vista)

Plz help

regards,

Adrian
