Display settings help plz

Hi all got a nex XL301 and trying to get the best set up

using with a samsung 26 lcd but when i set the display to fit the TV it is too small to see from my sofa if i set the display to a lower resolution it cuts off teh screen, how can i lower the resolution but still fit the screen, i know it is easy on a monitor but cant for the life of me find the way to do it on the lcd

See if your LCD has an 'Overscan' function. If so then get the resolution that is as near as possible to the correct pixel dimmension and then use overscan to expand or contract the display. your samsung may not have this which means you will be forced to resize your windows to suit the LCD
