well guys i have a vaio vgn-ar11m and i have the clicking noise but i intend changing the drive to seagate momentus 7200:1 100 gig ..has anyone solved the click by changing drive..

i have a ar11m as well and it doesnt make any noise at all. u should go back to the place where you purchased it from and they will replace it for u if its less than 28 days old.

I have an AR21S and the same low level clicking noise coming from the middle of the keyboard.
I have spoken to Sony about this and have been told it is the arm not aligning properly on the hard drive.
Sony knows about the problem and there will be a BIOS update download next month. It seems to be a problem with a large number of Vaio's.
