cannot update display driver Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express

Well, so that's it. The guys from Intel released a new version of the driver but once I'm trying to install it, keeps saying "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer"

by the way, my VAIO is the VGN-N31M and I am very happy with it but this issue freaks me out becasue is not the first time that I try to update this driver...

Hi diecus and welcome to Club Vaio.

What Driver Version are you trying to install? XP or Vista.

You will find that Sony block the self-installing .EXE driver download as they seem to think that drivers should be tested by them before release. I would tend to agree if they released them more frequently than on Blue Moons!

Is there a second version of the download in .ZIP format? If so, try downloading the .ZIP file and then right-clicking on it and choosing "Extract All". Extract the files to where you can find them. Go to the extracted files and see if you can find a Setup.EXE - and run it.

My OS is Vista.

Installed driver details:

Driver date: 13/12/2006
Driver version: 7.14.10.1151

Details of the driver that I'd lie to install:

Driver Revision: PV 15.7
Package: 43430
Graphics: 7.14.10.1409

I've already tried that, extracting files and running the setup.exe. Also tried to install it manually from the device manager and updating the driver but still the same results.

Don't know what else to do.
