Cannot play Blu-Ray disk on TV through HDMI - Vaio VGN-Z5

Just got my new laptop which has a Blu Ray drive and an HDMI output, and tried to play a blu-ray movie through my Sony TV (using the HDMI link) but it comes out with an error message saying that it is restricted to not play in this mode. Take the HDMI cable out, and the movie plays fine on the notebook.

No doubt this is an anti-piracy measure, but one of the main reasons I bought this particular notebook, is because I travel a lot, and hotels nowadays have LCD TV's with HDMI inputs. I wanted to bring my own BD disks with me to watch whilst away.

How can I get around this??

Hi undrop and welcome

The anti-piracy restriction is that you cannot send the HDMI signal to more than one output at a time

It is counting the TV plus the Vaio's screen as 2

You need to turn off the Vaio's screen by pressing Fn + F7 to display on the TV only
