Broken Vaio Keys

Hi,

I have had 2 keys on my Sony Vaio VGN-AR31E break within a couple of months of each other. I'm not exactly a heavy user of the laptop and it has received no damage so I am a little surprised about this. Looking at the keys it appears that one of the little pins on the bottom that attach the key to the keyboard have broke off.

Do you know where I can get replacements from?
Also I found a post from 2007 (http://club.vaio.sony.co.uk/clubvaio/gb/en/forum/viewthread?thread=42423&offset=0) which said support will send out up to 5 keys free of charge. Do they still do this?

Thanks.
Nigel

Hi Nigel,

welcome to Club VAIO..

Unfortunately Sony Europe no longer post out replacement keys.

If you are sure your keys are actually broken then you may be able to find a replacement key or keyboard for your vaio via ebay or similar.

Or I afraid a replacement keyboard from Sony support is possibly the only other alternative. 😞
