Boot from internal SD-slot, possible?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to boot from an SD card using the internal SD slot?
Will the BIOS perceive the internal slot as an external device (i know, but still...)?
I've tried finding more info on it, but no luck so far.
I hope someone can shed some light.

Thanks,

Thijs

Hi Thijs and welcome.

The answer is no - because the BIOS will not recognise the SD slot as a boot option. The SD card slot requires windows based software to operate.

In theory you may be able to boot from a SD card inserted into an external USB card reader if your BIOS allows booting from a USB device. Unfortunately in many Vaios there is not a USB boot option.

Thanks Blencogo,

i figured as much, still a shame. But the BIOS of the Vaio Z has been cracked allready, in which the advanced options are adjustable, might work on my model as well.

tnx again,

Thijs
