so i got my free copy of spiderman 3. now i know it has an aspect ratio of 2.40:1, but i was so shocked when i connected my vaio up to my 720p samsung R88, the picture was so small and skinny on the screen. if you added the black lines together, then vertically, they were the same size as the actual movie. its shocking. if i view the film through the vaio screen its slightly better (film takes up 2/3 of the screen instead of 1/2). my question is, is there a prefered resolution for tv output to get it displaying nearer the 2/3 than the 1/2, because atm i dont think i could sit there and watch something only half fill my 37" screen, looks so small.
