Hello,
Today I had a problem when I installed vista, when I wanted to instal the vaio shared video drivers, I got an error telling me my laptop was not a vaio, but it is, a vaio AR21S.
I started googling about the problem and found that it could be fixed by flashing the bios.
As I already flashed it to the one provided for AR31S some months ago and offcourse I couldn't flash back with the same bios version I searched for the bios version from the AR21S (the original one), and found it on the vaio FTP server.
Than in vista I tried flashing, but it stated it could not read the system info, and so i booted in XP and run it from there.
It worked and my PC shutted down and started up again.
But there is the problem, I hear my fan kicking in and also my dvd-drive, but than it stops, nothing on the screen, nothing 😞
The laptop is still running, but it doesn't boot.
Now my question, does anybody knows what to do?
Is there a solution that I can flash my bios from a bootable CD, if it can start from a CD without BIOS (although I think it should be partially working)
Or if I can't where should I go to have it fixed.
thanks,
Patrick
Hi Patrick,
Before you do any more damage, I would contact Sony Support here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/contacts/contacts.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&tp=vaio&cm=phone&cc=BE_FR
Thanks,
I won't touch my laptop again before I called them monday
Luckily it's vacation time and I can do it without for some time
