AR31M Upscaling DVD's?

Hi there,
I have a VGNAR31M - I just wondered if I played a DVD on it and, via an HDMI lead, watched it on a HD Ready Plasma - is the picture by any chance 'upscaled'? This model isn't Blu-Ray, I know, but it has a 1080P sticker on it!
