but this tv belongs to my father in law and a dont want to convert photos every time he shoots next 1500 images with his camera...
i would appreciate a firmware update which fixes this issue. Will there be some?
original issue: http://www.sony-asia.com/support/faq/445536#
Hi
Won't be a firmware upgrade I'm afraid, but our free Homestream software transcodes JPEG YCbCr 444 images and streams them to the TV, so you can leave them in the original format.

Hope this helps
thank you but imagemagick is the nr 1 for conversions and formating photos.
what about rooting the tv and update maybe a package responsible for the JPEG visualisation?
any suggestions?

Is there a technical reason why this cannot be fixed in firmware? Or is it just a commercial decision?
