I was given a new KDL40ex523 sony bravia TV after a previous Sony LCD tv had a faulty panel (infamous shadowy lines ).
The KDL40ex523 has now got a fault. Half the screen has started flicking on and off and then the left hand side how now started filicking on and off with virtical white lines appearing as well. This reminds me of the flicking tv in the future house on back to the future part 2.

I have tried turning it off and on and factory reset without success. ?I did have a sofware update a couple of days ago but dont know if that caused the problem.
Is this a known fault? Can it be fixed easierly or do I need to get the sony repair company out again, costing evening more money? This is the second fault I've had with a sony TV, I cant rocomend them again.
