Hi, I see that a new firmware update has been broadcast recently for a number of Sony TVs, including mine above. The only reason I spotted this is that the switch-on sequence is different. Previously, the Sony logo appeared for a couple of seconds, then the last channel watched, then a message that the USB WiFi dongle had been detected. Now, the TV starts immediately with the channel and no Sony logo or USB message. This is fine, but I notice that, whereas before, my wireless router's 'local network' light would go out once the TV was turned to standby, now it stays on continuously. It is definitely the TV doing this as unplugging the dongle extinguishes the router's light (assuming no other PC is on). Surely this implies that the TV now consumes more power on standby than before as the dongle must always be active. Playing with some of the power saving settings does not seem to affect this at all.
Any comments would be appreciated.
