Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.
Solved! Go to Solution.
So far, yellow tint is the only issue as informed at the most popular hi-tech forum in my country.
OMG,why do we have to wait for?Wait for what?If Sony can't have a solution to fix this problem soon, just change the new one for customers.I think most Vietnamese customers are really disappointed with your warranty service.
hi..
I'm Arya from Indonesia,
Don't know bout ur country, but in my country they will replace my device with the new one, I just have to wait for 7 days, if they were not called me yet, the I should call them... And boom... New Xperia S handset without yellow tint in my hand...
Just got my Xperia S yesturday, play GTA3 for about 30 min, and sadly I do have the yellow tint as well. This is BS, however for "me" it isn't too bad, with a bit of yellow on the top corner and bottom center which fade away when cooldown, as much as I HATE IT... I can live with that, shame, something so beautiful which cost $600 has this problem.
Seem like sony's screwing us, and I don't wanna return it either, for a 25%+ restocking fee, or If I told em about the problem they'll point their finger back to sony. I shoulda think twice about the HTC ONE X lolz :smileysad:.
Honestly, Sony's trying to win the mobile market, releasing a bunch of same(in my opinion) mid end phone and not carefully tested their device, I came from Xperia Arc, and that give me plenty of wifi problem(not the router I can assure you of that) and now the S have this problem and their lack of responsibility, and their ICS delivery timeline also pisses me off.
Unless their next phone is beautiful, with high-lastest cpu/gpu, ram, with bonus water resist, sd card support, large internal memory, good camera, etc, and less problem.....I think I will migrate to HTC or samsung.
Also for those who got their device fix....does the yellow tint gone permanantly? it seem me like its the built.
Another question is does ANY1 have the tint where it stay permanantly on the screen even when not hot.
Thanks
alright so we have 1 person having his phone replaced and solved the problem. Sony launched xperia s in indonesia days ago and looks like they have this problem solved. Thanks...I should go to the service center and ask for a replacement or just replace the screen.
Hi i have a xperia s from ireland, this is my second handset having the carphone warehouse replace my original due to yellow screen. Unfortunately this handset also has the problem. beginning to wonder if it affects all handsets
hi, Arya! Can you please keep one udate us about your new phone condition? Thank you!
hi djingga... I'd love to... Fortunately I just got my new phone today (This afternoon)... And until now, it's "baik-baik saja" (means: just okay).
Hi Arya, good to hear your phone came back tint free.
IF you're willing to, can you create a image(full blue) canvas .png and save it to ur phone.
Load up a game(nice graphic game, any from gameloft), just load it up, let it sit for about 20-30 min.
Then exit the game, go into your gallery, and open up the blue image and see if there's any yellow.
Alot of people notice it, and some don't, probably because they don't play game, I think the problem might be the Xperia S built, it term mean, all device have this problem.
Hi 4King...
I'd like to, but... Now is 21:40, or 9:40pm here in Indonesia... Time to rest, so maybe i will have time at saturday... ^_^
But for now, i have tried to play 4 videos continously... About 3 minutes each, and there is no problem...
