Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen, or the glue that was used to put display together.
Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

Hi HOTMALERJ,
I understand your frustration however some of us are here on this thread because we did manage to get replacement devices and they are working very well. I've stayed on here getting email notifications for new posts on this conversation so that if I can help anyone that has had this problem I can step in and give my experience of the process. As it happened I sent mine back to my mobile phone supplier, It was a locked device when I bought it and I sent it back untinkered with, no unlocking (it was locked by O2 UK and changing that would invalidate my contract with them). They did a doorstep replacement... new phone in box, gave them old phone in old box (they just wanted handset and charger). The replacement is still working fine, no tint no problems just still locked!
I just want to mention to you that as I said I do understand your frustration and Sony's non-international warrenty is really out of date for a global company, however, I don't like my inbox looking like it has been spammed when you make repeated posts. I don't think that there is a Sony Moderator or anyone associated with Sony watching this thread we are all the same as you, we had this problem, we found this thread, we all helped each other where we could. Please, before you send multiple abusive shouty messages, think... Does my mother read this? Might I suggest a strongly worded email to Sony Customer services instead??
Thank you for your input.
Pete
Again i want to ask the users whether they are still facing yellow tint issue....if so have you tried with the sony service centre?? please provide your date of purchase.
I really doubt sony as for their statement that only so called limited batch was effected as which ever thread or post I see are flooded with this issue wherein all the users complain about this issue. if sony is still selling this phones with defective screen then this is the high time to show them by lodging a complain in consumer forum, believe me it really works as i have tried it before though the consumer court is a bit sluggish but it really works like a miracle.i request all the users to please please please do reply this time and beware all you moderators before posting nonsense replys to my post as this time i will not take it lightly, we have the right to speak and we will not be quiet if sony will eat our hard earned money.
I appreciate your post. I've tried to contact Sony service center with no success. You Know everyday I receive on my e-mail box some NGO - Non governamental organization asking for money maybe US$2 per month to help childreans fight starvation Africa. I gave US$ 600 at once for a mobile that I believe would last for atleast 1 year. I've payed in 5 minutes alot more than people in India can earn in one year.
I have the right to complain AS MUCH AS I WANT!!
SONY SUCKS!!
I have done my part by complaining in the consumer court and I request all who are suffering from this issue to do the same. I have purchased xperia sl just 4 days back and even it is having yellow tint, so howcome sony is selling defective products. I will give it for repair in service centre even though i know it will do no good, but i have to do this just as a formality as per consumer court. I request all of you who have this issue to complain in the consumer court as this will surely make the issue highlighted.
Who ever does this please mention it here. This is really possible if all of us will unite, we will get our money back from sony.
My SONY XPERIA S started showning yellow tint at higher temperatures. And since SONY had already acknowledged the issue online,i took it to the nearest service centre( Mobile technology, 45/178t sangamitra chambers,DN nagar,Link road, andheri West,T-022 26713893) ,Ticket ID :12120101269 on 01Dec,2012
But they(Bhavana Telange) rejected the display replacement on the grounds of physical damage declaring that my warranty was void. The physical damage was basically a 1mm dent on the back side of the phone.
It's not that the display is faulty because of the dent but because of a manufacturing defect on the part of SONY mobile.I fail to understand why the two scenarios was being related when SONY has already acknowledged the issue.
Its like you are trying to avoid the replacement by popping up some vague reasons which has no relation to the defect.I feel cheated buying such a high end phone and getting such a downtrodden service for it.I feel i made a mistake by purchasing a SONY product because you are not even ready to rectify the fault you made for which i have to suffer. This is not how a company of such respected reputation bluff customers who believe a SONY product is of top notch quality, only to be find out that this is certainly not the case.
Hi!! I'm from Mexico and I bought a Xperia S almost one year ago, I've seen that "Yellow Tint" on my phones screen but I didn't pay atention to these issue. Actually, I didn't google about it until a few days ago and when I did, I found this Blog in the official sonymobile site.
After I readed all the important info about the problem I got in touch with Sonymobile support by chat and the guy couldn't help me, then I called to technical support and some guy told me: OK, send your phone and we're going to see if it's covered by warranty. After that, another guy email me and wrote that they were fixing my phone to send it back to me.
11 days later my phone came back and guess what! Nothing happened!!!!! So I readed the technical report attached to my phone and it said: "Reported Issue: Audio problem" "Problem status: No issue founded" (obviously!!!). Then I wrote back an email to the guy telling him that I was annoyed 'cause they didn't do anything to my phone and I told him again what the problem is, that was 5 days ago and I haven't recived anything from them...
Do somebody knows what can I do to get my phone replaced or, in the worst of the cases, my phones display fixed??? 😕 😕 😕
