Yellow tint

Anyone else have a yellow tint on their display?? I have it quite bad on the bottom of the display and both left and right hand edges of display running from top to bottom. Is it possible with a firmware update that this issue could be eliminated. J had read on one forum that ICS update SHOULD solve it. Something to do with the colour calibration. I have also heard that it could be to do with colour temperature of screen,  or the glue that was used to put display together.

Any advice would be gladly appreciated as this is ruining my experience with this device.

I got the same issue it was really small to beging with but developed and became a little bit bigger (still fairly small) but its fairly noticable under a white/black background and is quite annoying. Contacted Sony straight away and sent it today to a service center in Ashford Kent.

I've had my Xperia S since the end of March this year. It already has a yellow-tinted region, about 0.5cm deep x 2.5cm wide. I'm worried that the problem will get worse, and I have my phone on a 24 month contract with Orange. What plans do Sony have to address this issue?

I had the tint issue which became really annoying with ICS. I sent it in 3 weeks ago in Denmark. It is still away...

Sony will change the full front panel free of charge but the new panel may take some getting used to as it appears yellowish under different lighting condition. After I changed my panel, it does display an instant improvement on clarity and sharpness. Suspect that the yellowish warm feel maybe due to colour contrast and backlighting. Hoping that in the next upgrade to Jelly Bean Sony will do some adjustments.

Hi everyone,

I'm a Sri Lankan. I bought my Xperia S on April, 2012 from Malaysia because at that time xperia s was not available in Sri Lanka. There was no any yellow tint issue before I upgrade to ICS. But now the yellow tint issue is there in my phone after upgrading to ICS. Its annoying. What should I do? According to my knowledge, there is no any Sony Service Center in Sri Lanka. Travelling to Malaysia is a problem with my work schedule. But if the Malaysian Sony Support can fix this issue in one or two days it is possible to spend two days for this. But if I consider the travelling cost, it is better to buy a new Xperia S here in Sri Lanka. Was this a hardware issue or a software issue? Please help.

It's A Hardware Issue And Sony Refusing Everyone To Not To Cure This Yellow Tint Problem.

Mostly Every User Of Xperia S Is Facing This Problem But No One Care!!!

Dear Markus,

Contrast stains appeard on the screen of my Xperia S (if the backgorund is white, the stain is yellow, if the background is dark, the stain is white) - the "yellow tint display" it is called I guess.

A friend of mine brought the Xperia S to me from Germany. I don't have the chek. I do have the box  with the information tag (IMEI: 35171005-377895-6, bar code 7 311271 364986, Grouppe: Mobiltelefone (Handys), SKU: 1257-2734, EAN: 7311271364986) and user manual in german (Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB SE-221 88 Lund, Sweeden).

Could you please help me!

I am in Russia. The Experia service in Russia doesn't want to replace the screen for the warranty (they want to charge 300 USD for it!). What should I do?

Please advise!

With best regards,

Irakliy

Hi,

I have the same problem with my phone, and when I searched in the internet I found this reply so

I sent it to Sony lab in Israel, and I was shocked by them telling me it's a known problem and we can do nothing about it! Then what does the word "resolve" mean in this discussion?

I'm waiting to hear from you how should I proceed...

Thanks in advance

Ehab
