[UPDATE] Android 4.0 Update for Sony [Ericsson] XPERIA Neo V MT11i

Hi all

The Ice Cream Sandwich software update for 2011  Xperia™ Smartphones is NOT being rolled out. The update is released in batches, WHICH TAKE A H E L L OF A TIME, and  you will find links of your phone list of all the currently released ICS software.

We will TAKE ETERNITY  to continue to add items in the list as soon as they are released.

Yes SONY [Ericsson], PEOPLE are WAITING for THE UPDATE.

If this is how you treat the minor firmware update of 4.1.B.0.587 (For Neo/V and other 2011 XPERIAs)

I am predicting that the Android 4.1 update will take just as long, or even eternity. In fact, I am not surprised if you do not release Android 4.1 to XPERIAs.

Why SONY? WHY?

Please reflect. Other companies like NOKIA are suffering to develop new phones to save themselves, and they work very hard to acheive this.

Samsung is also another story, but I digress.

Why are you NOT working HARD to retain REGULAR CUSTOMERS like me and others globally?

Why are you focusing on PHONE DESIGN, ACCESSORIES, and TABLETS when the operating system is neglected?

Could Sony Ericsson be much, MUCH HARDWORKING than a merged Sony Mobile?

People (including Xperia Play owners) are VERY ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED that you ignore the operating system.

HTC and Motorola are advancing to Android 4.1 already. They are also younger companies, without VANILLA ANDROID OS (Sense 4). HOW is it possible that they are BETTER than a long running, experienced Sony [Ericsson]?

Please take note, reflect and turn over a new leaf, before you lose EVEN MORE customers like me, who are on the verge on LEAVING SONY MOBILE.

If you still cannot find your SI number, just ignore Sony and follow this XDA thread to manually flash the latest firmware (4.1.B.0.587) into your Xperia Neo V.

Proud Disappointed, Regretful owner of XPERIA Neo V by Sony [Ericsson] Mobile

I got email from Johan from Sony Xperia support, the SIs are updating.

BUT WTH...HE DELETED THE THREAD, AND YET THE LATEST SI NUMBER FOR NEO V WAS ON 9 SEPT!!!

A PM (Public Message) for Johan: Okay, I don't much care about the process, but please take note, a quote from my post: HTC and Motorola are advancing to Android 4.1 already. They are also younger companies, ALSO without VANILLA ANDROID OS (Sense 4, etc.). HOW is it possible that they are BETTER, FASTER than a long running, experienced Sony [Ericsson]?

I agree with you bro... It's very irritating thing that they couldn't even make a small update accurate and faster. Now the point is...Are they really listening to our feedback?

Do this forum owners are reporting these feedbacks to their developers apart from giving the most diplomatic answers...??

Hello support team,

Now respond to this thread atleast with your diplomatic answers :@

I agree with you.

But they will continue to ignore Software.

Even Iphone 3GS which was released at 2009 get the last IOS 6 update.

But 2011 Xperia phones still gets buggy laggy ICS update.

Oh, that post got deleted? Don't know why but however that post was almost the same as one I made last day which still exists, so there is nothing wrong about it. I think we both can understand why I can't comment or make any statement about how other companies run their operations. So unfortunately I don't know what answer you're looking for?

See, the point of my post is, how are other phone giants able to update their phones to latest firmwares, even with non-AOSP support? I believe they have no problems with carrier.

Why does Sony have carrier problems unlike other companies?

By Google:

"We've started rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi tablets. Enjoy the tasty update!"

By HTC:

"We're still waiting for an upgrade to Jelly Bean for the HTC One X and it would appear we'll be waiting a little longer after HTC rolled out a 'minor' update to Android 4.0.4."

A spokesman on the HTC stand at IFA has told Wired.co.uk that the Desire X, announced at show and expected in shops in mid-September will soon afterwards get an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. HTC has yet to official confirm that new however.

By Sony:

"Hi Dani, unfortunately Arc S won't be getting the Jelly Bean updated but we're always developing new phones and making sure they get the latest updates."

^Yes this is an error^

Is the company hiding the secret?

Has Sony UK let the cat out of the bag already?

Is Sony trying to make the suspense USELESS?

Yet again, I do hope you understand why I can't make any comments on how other companies run their operations. I can of course share with you all the available information about our updates and the process. Which I have done in the post that mysteriously got deleted (but this is now being checked by forum web support).

So XperiaNeoVSG I hope you understand that I won't be able to answer on why we don't run our operations just like the others. My main purpose here is to identify problems and report them and of course to give as much support as possible.

No decision has been made yet about Jelly bean for 2011 phones.

Hi Johan,

If you couldn't able to provide the information about a matter which was being asked by many customers and since many days, then why are you here for??

Is this the answer that a customer can expect from the support team of any company...

Can't you reach your higher officials for the information??

What will you do if a company is also giving the same diplomatic answers to which you are a customer???

Just think it as a customer before you give such diplomatic answers to the customers of your company.
