Dear friends,
I uptodated my Xperia S to android 4.1.2
Howver, since then, my messaging has stopped working. & so does my email.
All the time I get this message on my screen: "Unfortunately, messaging has stopped. Ok."
And I can only check ok & nothing more.
Will you please help me?
Appreciate your care,
Neda
Instead of just resetting, if you have backed up the phone please run a repair to reload the most recent update:
1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

Hey Sam - I followed your steps and then went to restore my backup data. And it still has the same message! This is so frustrating! i should've never updated. What can you suggest now that my messaging still doesn't work?
I've updated mine also this weekend, and I've got the same problem.
I've already uninstall every problem that might block (antivirus, etc)
@NES - Have you tried running the software repair as above? Please also ensure that if you are backing up your data prior to doing so that you do not restore the messages after the repair is complete.

All do it take the phone almost 5 minutes to start up, but:
It worked before the backup restore
It doesn't work after backup restore.
?!? What should i do?
Since I didn't lose almost nothing, I did the repair again, import all contacts from the sim card and it works.
I'll reinstall the programs. I'll keep you posted if there's any problem
Regards
Sounds good, unfortunately it looks like some of the data you had was corrupt and restoring it was restoring this data along with the problem. With this being the case you should not have the same problem again given that you haven’t restored the data this time.
