T2 Ultra dual, won't charge past 1%

My phone was working fine and then got a few drops of water on it when it was in my bag. It was unresponsive for a while but after wiping the water away and letting it airdry it was back to normal (after a bit of hanging). After the battery died I tried to charge it and found that it won't accept charge beyond 1%. When I plug it in to a charger the light on the top turns red indicating it is charging but after reaching 1% the light disappears and won't charge again until the battery is at zero. I've tried pressing the power button with the up volume button to get it to charge but the red light goes on and it still won't charge more than 1%. Is there anything I can try at home? Or do I need a technician to take a look at it?

Hi @SalookaS, sorry to hear about this. Slightly_frowning_Face

Is the phone powered off while you are trying to charge it past 1% or are you turning it for a short time while it is charging? If you are powering it on, try leaving it powered it off and connected to a wall socket and charge it for at least 30 minutes using the charger and cable included with your phone and see if it continues to charge or if it still can't be charged past 1%.

If you have another Sony original charger, or if one of your friends, colleagues or family members have an Xperia device you can ask them if you can use their charger.

If there is no change, your phone will need to be examined at an authorized service centre and your Local support team will assist you further!

Let me know how it went!

Hello,

I have used other chargers- with an original sony one as well- same result. The phone doesn't have enough charge to power up except for seconds so all the charging attempts are done while it's off. I've tried charging for hours on end, again, with the same result; stopping at 1%. Only once did it charge until 2%. I think I'll wait it out a bit.

Thanks very much for your response.

Oh, I see, sorry to hear that there was no change. Slightly_frowning_Face

As you said, you can wait a bit and see if this goes away. If it doesn't get in touch with your Local support team for further assistance with having your device examined at an authorized service centre.

Feel free to keep me updated on how it goes!
