I bought Xperia-Neo mobile hardly 1 month back.....and just after 10 days I noticed that my calls are dropped because of poor signal....I was on roaming so I thought that its a network problem...but then i noticed that calls were dropped even when I was not on roaming.......... I changed my sim just to make sure that there is no problem with my sim.....My sim works properly in all other mobile phones.....but when nothing worked I went to sony ericsson service centre...and it was really frustrating that they were not ready to accept the problem....and after hot arguments they accepted there is a problem and they updated some software and gave it back to me to check for next 1 week......They suggested that if this does not work then they will change the motherboard...........or will replace my handset.........
Its a brand new mobile and I really don't want to get it serviced.......Its a low quality product and I want to get it replaced in no time.....What can I do to get replacement of this mobile with least efforts(as It is headache for me to deal with service centre people.... and this is the second time I am facing this issue with Sony Erricsson Mobile.....earlier it was W580i........don't know why Sony Ericsson can't maintain the quality of their products)

you should contact SE
do you have the correct APN settings on your phone? how about network coverage? do you have 3G on the other phones? are the other phones smartphones? do you have a new SIM card? did you contacted your network to ask about and 3G issues?
go to
settings -> sony ericsson -> Internet Settings -> Accept
Yes I have correct apn setting on my phone.I confirmed it with my network provider. Network is fine for my sim in all other mobile handsets....even few other Sims which are working fine in other sets are having problem in my handset.yes other phones also smart phones......I took a new sim card for same mobile number just because of this problem in my phone...if this is 3g issue it should be with all other handsets as well........I tried above steps bt didn't make any difference.......the problem is random and quite frequent when on roaming......bt whenever I disconnect any call signals blinks for next few seconds and I am not able to connect any call until it stops.....after many hit and trials I m pretty sure that this is problem of handset.....can I get replacement of this?
Finally after fighting a lot with service center...I recieved my new Neo-V but the strange thing is I am facing the same problem with new handset.....I am not sure why this is happening with my sim...because my sim card(I got my sim changed after I had this problem) is working properly in all other handsets....I am following up with my service provider as well....I am not sure but i think Neo-V model is having some problem with airtel only.....
i am experiencing the very same problems with NEO V on Airtel. call drops even at the hint of low signal strength. i was off the network almost 70 % of the time whle driving from chennai to Kochi and back.
Well, I can confirm that with the neo v. I know for sure that it's not a net problem because the coverage here is excellent and only this phone is experiencing this sudden drops of signal strength. My previous phones didn't do that. It holds to the signal very good like all phones here with my service provider (always full), but during the day it regurarly drops a few or all bars, sometimes the signal is completely lost. So, the signal keeps going up and down continuosly. Where other people have excellent signal mine keeps changing all the time. I bet it's a software glitch. Something should be done about it in the next update or when ICS comes. It's very annoying and doesn't let the phone perform to its maximum.
i experienced the same problem... not only that, also my battery drained faster than before.. soon i found out that the reason that causes me those problem was the "NETWORK MODE" so instead of choosing WCDMA(3g) only, i changed it to GSM (2g) only or the WCDMA/GSM preferred.. using 3g will put more stress to the phone in finding the right signal thus using more juice from ur batt.. hope this solves your problem...
OMG UR MY HERO.... my xperia neo v had the same proble just been using it for a week... was thinking of sending it to warranty...now problem solved... thank you alot... u saved my day...
The problem is not only with XPERIA NEO. Even I am facing same problem in my XPERIA E4. My display was broken. So took it to another branded service center. After frequently changing displays found problem was with SIM. When the SIM is inserted in other mobiles, it works fine.
When other SIM is inserted in SONY too, it works fine. But not airtel. Even after changing to new SIM same problem occurs.
