Mine is definitely NOT water damaged. Sony gave me software fixes, nothing worked, have done factory re-set, and all other fixes suggested on this forum. Obviously a problem with the recent update, but Sony won't admit any connection.
This actually works, unlike any solutions Sony suggested. Annoying to have to open an app and then rotate the phone, but at least it works! After all the other suggestions, Sony just wanted me to open a "pay as you go" service call with them...Not a chance - it's obviously a problem caused by an update, not paying them to fix their own problem! Thanks for the help!
Same issue experienced with my Sony Xperia.. It gradually righted itself until after about 2 weeks it was working fully again.. I think water/moisture damage may have contributed but I can't be sure. .what I do know is that the problem has started again recently and I can only access the bar in landscape 😡
