How can I extract contacts from .dbk file on my computer?

Hi,

I have files on my computer, backed up from Sony Xperia S, I do not have this phone anymore, but I need to get important contacts out of this .dbk file. How can I do this?

Hey! I get to point 11 it say: com.sonyericsson.android.contactsimport

when I click on that one it says manifest. And that's it. I just copied the stuff from the phone in a safe mode, when my phone is acting weird.. so im gonna reinstall the phone and wanna save everything first.. im not sure it works if its in safemode.. it probably does though.. but id like to check it up. I might not check it up just reinstall it..

It says home app doesnt work. I get texts over and over again and I cant make phone calls... I've mentioned  this in another thread too (about this last two lines). So sorry if I break some rules. Thanks! and thanks for sharing your stuff!

Hi everybody,

I was just googleing how my tool spread and was really delighted to read through all the awesome comments I got in this thread. Soryy for not beeing active and giving support to those who didn't get it working, I had no idea how many people found this thread.

The tool I created got over 40.000 Downloads by now, and those are just the sources I can track (But by seeing how often it was mirrored I guess the number is even higher).

I did a blog post on how to restore your contacts.

And also how to restore your messages.

If you got problems search through the mass of comments there or just write a comment there, I'm sadly not active anymore on this forum.

All the best,

Johannski
