it is not going to work at all, why? because your DRM keys are gone, forever, you can not restore at all.

then, why it is working in Films app in which it downloads info for video files??
that's a good question but there are 2 options as to why the app doesn't work
1) you don't have your DRM keys anymore
or
2) this is not available in your country

1) you don't have your DRM keys anymore :- I think walkman app uses Gracenote to fetch music info and Films app uses the same Gracenote to fetch the info. Then why/how is it working in Films and not in Walkman?Correct me if I am wrong.
2) this is not available in your country :- download music info was working for locked bootloader. But when I did unlocking,it stop.
While unlocking,I used IMEI number to generate key.So my question is, Is there any way we can generate those drm keys(files with .so extension so that we can paste it in /system/lib/drm/ folder) back using IMEI number?
you can not restore the DRM keys, you can check on the XDA forum there isn't a method to do so.
I think sony is just lying by saying when u unlock your bootloader ur drm key is lost forever.
Now let me tell you all even though I unlocked my bootloader there was never an issue with trackid
which requires drm key.
Now next I was thinking As I unlocked my bootloader I won't get download music info and also the bravia engine back because my drm key is lost.
Guess what? I was wrong. I was able to get download music info and bravia engine in ICS back.

Key to note: I had unlocked and relocked my bootloader many times.
All the thing is sony is just a company with full of lie who don't care about it's customer. There was never anything like drm key will be forever gone by unlocking yhe bootloader.
you are entitled to your opinion. good luck.
You are right,SONY don't even care about their customers.I googled about Download music info error and the same issue was there in March 2012, not for xperia s but for other xperia version. And I read over there that drm keys lost forever, sony's developers were working on this kind of issue.I dont know ,they are still working on this issue.
Yesterday,I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068225 but on 6.1.A.2.45 since I dont know how to root 6.1.A.2.55 which is required to copy/paste those .apk and .so files inside /system directory using root explorer. And hell, it worked. But when I flashed with 6.1.A.2.55 firmware,I got same Download music info error.
Does anyone know how to root or atleast how to copy files into /system folder in 6.1.A.2.55 because binary's root method is not working for .55 firmware.
Thanks in advance
I have the same problem with download music info not working. I have a brand new Xperia S. No Unlocking or such things. Did not work right out of the box....
