SD card gets corrupted after Marshmallow update

Since Marshmallow (6.0) update on my Xperia M5 Dual SD card showing corrupted. but previously it was working fine on the lollipop.
after formatting the SD card in the safe mode, Phone detected the SD card.

but i cant copy paste anything into it.

when i use camera (data storage is set to SD card)  pics are not saving on SD card, it is showing "There is some problem with your data storage"

I checked the SD card it is working in all other phones.
Any solution Please ..

Hi, I have also expeirenced the same thinking thinking it was my SD card that was at fault as I had the SD card in another phone and it evetually was corrupt, and sitting there for a year in the corrupt phone. Anyhow, I bought a new SD card thinking it'll solve this with my new M5 but it was the same thing.

Just so you know, you're not the only one as I see from the forum but I guess we need to sit patiently until Sony fixes this but in the mean time you can use another camera app - I'm currently using Open Camera.

Hope this is helpful. Don't format your phone or anything, everything works fine in your phone it's just the Marshmellow update that's wrong with the camera.

Seems like a faulty update. 5 times corrupted here so far, 2 known good SD cards tested, perfect in other devices including my old xperia Z1, not a single SD problem for months since purchasing M5, until about 3 hours after I installed the marshmallow update. Regretful of this "upgrade".

I'd really say this is an OS (Android 6.0) problem. I got the same problem after updating my Sony Xperia M5. Prior to the update, the card works well (can be detected through ES File Explorer and my Laptop as well). You can try turning the phone off then turn it on. After it boots, remove the Memory card, then wait for some seconds, insert it again. the files should be detected (although some of my files esp. pictures can't be opened). If anyone has a better solution, please help Grinning_Face

Same problem here since the update! First thought it was my sd card corrupted (which happened after the update I thought update procedure corrupted it) so bought a brand new 32GB one. Still the same corrupted issues starting the first use.. (Come on now it's no fake sd card or similar issue, I buy from big tech markets) I was waiting with patience till today to Sony release a fix.. I SEE still NO actions taken! Come on! It is so frustrating that I can't use the sd card and stuck with internal 16GB space which almost 8GB is intruded with bloatware already. I shoot pictures, movies and transfer them to PC everyday as a routine to keep them safe and allow free space for next usage.. Do I HAVE TO use your product like this? I bought this device brand new and no issues until the update, so l am very sure that this is all on your not perfected but quickly released update before Android 7.0 arriving around.. Please don't make this device my first and last Sony Mobile device. I still have hope that this will be fixed.

@uliwooly Tried repairing with XC after buying and getting the same error with the brand new sd card. Right after the repair I got the same error. I got nothing but losing all my setup. Tried formatting the cards in and out device as well, this is not a small bug. This is a HUGE user experience breaking problem which needs to be fixed by Sony developers not me!..

I am 100% agree with you.  This is not a small bug.  Or it resulted from the fact that Sony decided to omit one of Marshmellow feature to format and use SD card as internal memory.  So, please correct this asap....
