Alarm ringing when I don't have an alarm set

After the latest update in March 2017, my alarm goes off AND I HAVE NO ALARMS SET thus..... you can not turn it off!  you have to restart the machine.

any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear about that, must be very annoying.

Is the alarm going off at a certain time every day or does this behaviour occur at random times and random days of the week?

I would recommend that you start with resetting the clock application in your phone, this is the application that also handles the alarms. To do that go to Settings > Apps > Clock > Storage > Clear data > OK.

When you have done this, restart your phone and continue to use it as normal and see if you still experience that an alarm goes off when you don't have one set in the phone.

Hi Jonas,

goes off whenever. yesterday 3 times between 15h00 and 18h00 day before only 1 time.

yesterday it froze on "SONY" after I had to reboot it and had to google on how to overcome that! (ON/OFF button plus folume up.) Is getting highly annoying. Previously deleted all alarms to no avail.

and again.  I can adjust the volume wth the ring slider not the alarm slider nor the Media slider.  EVERYBODY at my office say put it in a glass of water - but it's water proof !!

Sorry to hear that there was no change.

Could you please try and reboot your phone in safe mode and see if the alarms still go off at random times? In safe mode all downloaded applications won't be loaded so we can see if any of them is the cause of this.

Should the alarm still ring without any alarms added in safe mode I'd recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will delete all data stored on the internal storage of your phone and reinstall the latest available software again.

Since data is being deleted, it's advised to backup using Xperia Companion before starting with the repair.

For quite some time I got no ringer for any messages that were delivered. I realised that the "alarm" went off after receiving quite a number of messages. ( I placed an online add and got plenty responses). uninstalled the message app, re-installed it and no problem since!
