I have an xperia l1 that will not turn on what so ever the screen is just permanently black. The phone will not force restart and doesnt vibrate or anything when trying to turn it on. When i plug it in to charge it does nothing but flash the red notification light.
Hi @AbuseBrave, let me see if I can help out here!
Have you tried charging your phone using different cables/sockets? It is advised to use an original Sony charger as other chargers may be too weak or too strong as they may have a different electric current rating (mA). It is recommended that you use a charger that is plugged into a wall socket instead of using a computer (and USB cable) to charge your device. Also, Try to make sure that the charging port is completely dry, and gently remove any lint or dust using, for example, a wooden or plastic toothpick.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if the battery is drained, it may take up to 30 minutes for your device to respond to the charging. During this time, the screen may remain completely dark, not showing the charging icon. Also note that it can take up to 4 hours for a completely drained battery to charge fully.
If the phone still does not turn on after a force restart, you may try a two minute restart. Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key for 120 seconds, ignoring any vibrations.
Try these measures and feel free to keep me posted with the results!
I will try the 2 minute restart tomorrow thanks for the help.
Hello, my Xperia L1 does not turn on, there is only one red light that flashes when connected to a charger.
I already tried with the 2 minute reboot, I tried to restore the operating system with Xperia companion and when connecting it to the PC it acts as if I was constantly connecting and disconnecting it and does not let the program proceed to repair the system.

Sounds great, @AbuseBrave! keep me posted with the results!
Sorry to hear about that @Francisco_Delport. Your post has been translated to English as this is an International forum, please post any replies in English and it will be easier for me and other users to assist you.
Have you tried charging your phone using different cables/sockets to see if the phone behaves differently? Also, try removing the SIM card and SD card if you have one. If the phone starts up as usual without a SIM card or SD card mounted, the cards may be damaged and in need of replacement.
If none of these measures manages to improve the functionality of the phone and if you are not able po perform a software repair, My suggestion is to get in contact with your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center. If you have any questions regarding the service such as service routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, as they vary between markets.
Let me know how it goes, @Francisco_Delport!
It didnt help anything could it be my battery is not working?
Hi again @AbuseBrave,
In that case it might be related to hardware, yes. I would suggest that you get in contact with your local support team in order to have your phone sent to an authorized service center. If you have any questions regarding the service such as service routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, as they vary between markets.
I hope that helped!
