Personal Dictionary no longer working with auto-correct

My Xperia L1 used to allow me to create shortcuts such as "ty" for "thank you", but they no longer work. The dictionary entries are still there, but they are not being inserted when I type. Also, it does correct common misspelled words, just not the custom ones.

Are you using SwiftKey, which is pre-installed, as your keyboard or have you downloaded another one from Google Play?
