Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
Finally, yesterday SONY customer care admitted that they have some problems with the device. I have an email in my hands that confirms it. Referring it, Sony admits that they have a problem with some of the xperia L phone devices and IT-department is investigating the problem.
Also, check facebook SONY MOBILE official pages now...

They admit the problem there too. I guess the solution is near enough to leak the information. I am sure that they have been silent for tactical reasons and now they inform people for tactical reasons.
Now the whole case raises some questions:
1. If company knows about this kind of a problem, should they inform customers straigtaway without giving only silence.
2. Is it legal to sell this model, if the producer knows that the software is broken this way?
I think Sony should use only one channel to keep their users informed. It takes a long time to be watchful to the forum, the different profiles of Facebook, Twitter, Xperia Blog, etc..
The Sony´s Communication Policy is very bad in this issue.
Hey Guys found something new....if i use my device without SD card then it works just fine no device memory leak...also i deleted the LOST.dir file from internal storage......Others too try this....let me know if it works for you too....
I fix this by rooting the phone but just as an FYI I never had an SD card and I did delete the LOST.DIR file. It worked for one day. Problem came running back the next morning.
I cannot believe that such a widespread problem had not been addressed by Sony itself before. I actually love Sony and all of there products. I finally got my first phone and I knew it had to be a Sony so I got the Xperia L, which appeared to be an amazing phone. Well after I it, there were issues with the touch screen (if I was scrolling up or down a list, the screen would start moving up and down by itself; and when I used the keyboard swiping feature, the blue-trail would be a zig-zag line). I also had a problem with the image gallary, but I didn't realize it was a bug. Then I started having memory issues, I could not install any more apps and SMS' started getting rejected when I only had about a total of 10 messages. I blamed myself thinking that I had installed too many apps, when I only installed the Dots game from the Google Playstore. So I started deleting things and the memory didn't budge. So I took it back to the Wind Store and the guy replaced my phone. But he also made me sign a contract saying that I would not make anymore returns or exchanges with this phone and my cell phone line. So then I was happy when I got my new one thinking that my problem was solved. But now a few days later and with only 2 apps installed, you can see my situation for yourselves in the picture above. IT IS RIDICULOUS! Why is this happening. So I am so happy that I found out that I wasn't the only one facing this problem, and when I saw that this is a week old thread, I got even happier. Sony, what are you doing?
Hey Guys....i got the memory leak issue resolved temporarily by removing the SD card ....making factory reset and deleting the LOST.dir file from internal storage in file manger. It has been stable for over 24 hrs now....everything seems to be working fine now.....as it has internal memory if 8gb(5.8 accessible) i think i can use it happily until there is a complete fix from sony.
Hi all,
Yesterday I had the phone back, after 10 days in the Official Service. According to the papers, they have made a "SW update". I imagine that they have re-installed the operating system, but the version is still 15.0.A.31. My operator (Movistar Spain) still does not have the latest update available.
Today missing about 200 Mb memory in the balance. I think the memory leak is still there.
I deleted lost.dir, but I need the external SD to store my music, so I put it. If it fails again I will do the test without SD, but that should only be considered a temporary solution.
I keep informed.
Sony, wake up!
I got a new email from Sony. Now they're saying that they do not recognize the problem and they're handling this thread and my email as a customer feedback, which they have forwarded for investigations.
Also the customer service told me that they ask to bring phones to service for investigation of problem.
Really, really dissapointed again. Also the customer service is pretty rude, or at least that is how I feel of their written emails.
I assume that this problem was not arise in india. I search the indian forums and i didn't find any issues with xperia L device memory full. Is anybody from india having this problem?
